Vostro is a line of Dell laptops aimed at the small business market with a focus on affordability. The Vostro customer has the option to purchase a technical support package from Dell to receive technical support around the clock, seven days a week. There are 10 Dell laptops in the Vostro line.
The Dell Vostro 1000 features a 15.4'' WXGA Anti Glare True or TrueLife screen. Both display options are great with great contrast and brightness which makes for very comfortable reading and viewing. The matte finish on the screen is ideal for viewing when outdoors.
In the laptop memory department, the Vostro 1000 offers a DDR2-533(up to)1024 MB and a (up to)120 GB hard drive. The video card delivers an ATI Radeon Xpress 256 MB HyperMemory and the Vostro 1000 has a 6 cell lithium-ion battery. It carries an Athlon 64 bit X2 AMD dual core processor and has 512MB of RAM.
The keyboard on the Dell Vostro 1000 has a nice feel, so you do not need to type forcefully and the touchpad is just the right size.
The 6.26 pound black magnesium alloy chassis is solid and boasts a mylar sealed keyboard. This makes it crumb and spill proof and perfect for the road warrior who eats and drinks at the local coffee shop while working on his laptop.

The Vostro 1000 is a super quiet laptop. You can't hardly even hear the fan run on this model. This is a great benefit for when you are working in close proximity to other people.
On the left side of this Dell you are offered the optical drive, which can be either a DVD/CD-RW Combo or a Dual Layer DVD+R write drive.
On the right side you get the Express card 54mm, 3-in-1 media card reader, a headphone out, mic in and two USB ports.
